"We are excited for our educational staff to continue working together to build our Battalion identity," said Corps Director Katherine Steinacker. "As we prepare to perform in Indianapolis in the future, we wanted to build on our already incredible team of educators to push our members to a level of excellence that will show the drum corps world what The Battalion can do. Most importantly, everyone is bought-in to our vision and mission to providing a Christian-values environment focused first on member experience."
The 2019 educational staff sees the return of several familiar faces from the 2018 season and the addition of new staff members, bringing great experience to the educational team.
“In preparation for our fourth competitive season we’ve assembled a great staff of educators made up of returning staff members and some new faces led by our incredibly capable team of caption heads and assistants,” said program director Mark Hartman. “Everyone on our staff is committed to providing a phenomenal experience for our members in a safe, professional environment, building on the tradition of excellence that began with the founding of the corps almost five years ago. This is the team that will prepare our students to compete and perform at the highest levels of our activity. I’m extremely excited about the possibilities for the future!”
We have new leadership for our color guard this season. Cory Oliver is joining the team as Guard Caption Head, and Jessica Slabaugh will be joining our design team as the Guard Designer. "Mariann Liddiard was one of the first people we reached out to back in 2014 when we launched the corps. We love her and will miss her a ton. She leaves big shoes to fill, but we're confident in the new leadership we've found to take us to the next level and help us build upon an already incredible team," said Luke McCollum, CEO of The Battalion.
