New Partnership With Snow College
The Battalion Drum & Bugle Corps today announced a new strategic partnership with Snow College, naming the school as the official home for the corps’ 2016 spring training.
“We are excited to partner with Snow College for our spring training,” said The Battalion Executive Director Dallin Hatch. “The faculty at the Horne School of Music believes, as we do, that The Battalion is going to be an incredible force for good in Utah. We’re excited to work together to make the corps’ first ever spring training an unforgettable learning experience for our members and an undeniable leap forward for our organization.”
Located two hours south of Salt Lake City in Ephraim, Utah, Snow College normally serves as home to more than 4,000 students. During the month of June, however, the campus will become the “Forward Operating Base” for The Battalion. Corps members will stay in the school’s dormitories and rehearse at Snow College’s beautiful Eccles Center for Performing Arts, football stadium, and adjacent fields.
“From their collaboration with the Juilliard School to marry music and entrepreneurship into the college’s first Bachelor of Music degree, to their state of the art facilities and commitment as an All-Steinway School, the leadership at the Horne School of Music at Snow College has proven themselves as innovation leaders in Utah,” said Hatch. “We hope our partnership with the college will prove just as fruitful and forward thinking.”
Snow College Director of Bands Dr. David Fullmer said he is thrilled to enter into this partnership with The Battalion.
“We are committed to improving music education throughout the state of Utah, and are excited to bring as many talented musicians as possible to our beautiful campus,” said Fullmer. “By giving The Battalion a home for their spring training, we are helping foster an environment of learning and character building that will have an impact school music programs throughout the state."
