Overview
BEX Clinics give students an opportunity to experience drum corps first hand and learn what they need to work on to prepare for the audition process, whether you plan on auditioning for the upcoming season or in the future. You will meet and learn from our world-class staff and receive feedback to help you grow as a performer. You will also learn what is expected of a member of The Battalion. BEX Auditions take that experience one step further, as students begin the process of earning a spot as a member of The Battalion for the 2025 season.

BEX Clinics are typically held on Fridays from 6:00 - 10:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm (unless otherwise noted)
Instructional blocks will include music and visual rehearsals, sectionals, and full ensemble. Students will work on the packet for their section as well as an ensemble to perform together. Add your packet to the cart and reserve your spot at our next event! Drum major candidates will be sent a packet once available. There is no packet for color guard. If you plan to audition for our 2025 Season, you can pay your audition fees ahead of time. Our first BEX Audition will take place on January 10-11, 2025. Video auditions are for anyone unable to make it. Please follow instructions below.

Satellite Auditions
We understand that getting to Utah for live auditions can be difficult, so we are always looking for more opportunities to offer events in a city near you! Keep checking back for changes. Please see our camp schedule for any upcoming Satellite Auditions. These are typically Brass and/or Colorguard only events during the winter months, held on Saturdays from 9AM-5PM. You'll receive one on one instruction on music and movement techniques and have the opportunity to audition in person for our staff.

Video Auditions
For those unable to attend a live audition camp, we do offer the option of submitting a video audition. All you need to do is pay for the video audition (below). Once you've paid, instructions will be sent to you. Read the instructions for your section, submit your videos, and our expert staff will review your submissions, provide feedback. This is one of the easiest and most cost effective ways to earn a call-back to our April and May rehearsal camps and start your journey to being a member of the 2025 Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps.

Registration: Completely fill out the information in the form below, keeping in mind there are 3 sections.

Packets: NEW FOR 2025, FREE PACKET DOWNLOADS! Add the 2025 Brass, Battery, or Front Ensemble packets to your shopping cart. Drum major packets will be emailed to interested individuals when it is available. If you're interested in color guard, there is no packet.

Events: Add the events you wish to attend to your shopping cart. Full Corps Camp fees are $50 if paid in advance, $75 if paid the week of the event. Satellite Camp fees are $50.

In-Person Audition Fees: If you plan on attending an in-person audition for the 2025 Season, add the appropriate In-Person Audition fee for your section to your cart.

Video Audition Fees: If you plan to submit a video audition, add the Video Audition Fee for your section to your cart. Once you pay, follow the instructions for your section.

Transportation: The Battalion is offering transportation for Full Corps Camps in Utah, round trip from the Salt Lake City Airport for $25. If you wish to use this option, add this item to your shopping cart.

What can I expect from a BEX event?
We welcome all skill levels to come and learn at our clinics and auditions. Attending a BEX event is a great way to experience drum corps and gain insight into what this activity is all about. Our incredible staff will help you through it!

There will be plenty of students who are nervous about being a part of something where the performance expectations are high. Everyone has to start somewhere and sometime. This is a learning experience and we want you all to have a great time experiencing the magic of drum corps first hand.
​
During the one on one instruction, each student will receive feedback from one of our staff members with meaningful suggestions for improvement. Everyone will leave with something they need to work on to prepare them for the next event.

Can I audition for the 2025 corps?
Yes, we have open spots in all sections! Auditioning will allow our staff to see what you can do and allow them to give you feedback as we build out the corps for the summer. Our BEX events will serve as a training ground for the 2025 season. Participating in these events will allow you to work with our staff and learn what will be expected during the audition process. The audition is where students will be able to demonstrate what you have been working on throughout the clinics. Everyone is invited to participate in these events regardless of if you plan to audition for the corps.

Can I submit a video audition?

What can I expect from the 2025 summer?
The Battalion will be touring nationally and will participate in World Championships in Indianapolis, IN! Students should hold June 8, 2025 - August 9, 2025 and dates will be finalized as soon as possible. Visit DCI.org to see the list of DCI events we will appear in this summer.

Can I audition for a drum major position?
Yes, drum major auditions will be held during the Utah January Audition on January 10-11, 2025. Drum major packets will be emailed to candidates when it is available. Students should also complete an audition on their primary instrument to be considered for a spot in the drum corps if they are not selected as a drum major. You only need to pay one audition fee if also completing an audition on your primary instrument.
