BRIAN DONG - BRASS INSTRUCTOR

Brian Dong is an alumni of The Battalion, and is excited to return as a staff member in 2023. Primarily a woodwind player, he picked up euphonium to march with The Battalion in 2018 and the Blue Knights from 2019-2021. Additionally, Brian played percussion throughout high school and college to participate in marching band and indoor percussion. During his marching career, Brian was awarded the Fred J. Miller Memorial Music Education Scholarship, Richardson Music Education Scholarship, and the Zildjian/Mark Thurston Scholarship. While in college, Brian performed with the University of Utah Wind Ensemble and Philharmonia on bassoon and contrabassoon.

Brian is a Utah native, and graduated from the University of Utah with a H.B.S. in Computer Science and a Minor in Music. He currently lives in Saratoga Springs, Utah, where he enjoys cooking and baking in his free time, and works as a software engineer.
