AARON O'BAR - BRASS INSTRUCTOR
Aaron is from Boise, Idaho, where he advocates for the marching arts throughout the Treasure Valley to local high school students. After graduating from Borah High School, he went on to serve as a conductor with the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps in the Summer of 2019. Through his 4 years with Troopers, Aaron was present throughout the highs and lows that the corps experienced leading up to their historic DCI 2022 Finals night return, aging out as the Head Drum Major for the corps.
While attending Boise State University, Aaron received a job at his alma mater as an Intern Director of his former high school marching band, where he primarily focused on teaching Visual concepts and techniques to his students in the Fall of 2019. After the retirement of the Director, he stayed with the band, served as Assistant Director and Artistic Director of Bands for the band, and helped the ensemble achieve a District 3 Finals appearance for the first time in the history of the school.
Aaron has studied saxophone performance at Boise State University, as well as performed on mellophone with the Boise State University Blue Thunder Marching Band. He also has experience in performance on French Horn and Piano. Aaron uses his knowledge of music and the marching arts to advocate growth of music education in the Treasure Valley. Being from an area where music education is often seen as trivial; writing drill, teaching, and offering private lessons are just a few ways he hopes to inspire more students like himself to take that extra step towards pursuing their dreams of marching drum corps.
